About The Build
You’ll be playing our full Vertical Extraction game mode on Atrium (formerly Proving Ground 2), with stash & loadouts, vendors, contracts & quests, Claw and RAT gameplay, character customization, additional guns, and more. It’s a massive release representing what we’ve been working on for the past year and there’s a lot to explore.
There will definitely be bugs, and there’s some content which is very clearly not finished and buggy. We’ll have a channel with some of the major known issues and a place for player bug reports.
Performance will vary from person to person – we’ve done some work to optimize the environment, but we haven’t stopped production to focus on improving framerates like we would when doing a larger release. Internally we get a wide range of performance.
This build is strictly for testing purposes and does not include any owned cosmetic items.
How Will Testing Work?
Servers will be up for limited time windows each week. The schedule will be communicated in Discord. These tests are only available to Founders.
We’ll be doing account wipes on a regular basis as we test different tuning values for the economy and progression systems. These wipes will be on a weekly basis initially, with expectation that we later extend them.
Each week we will have a leaderboard for account net worth (Dust + Stash Value) for bragging rights.
Where We Are At
During 2024, we’ve been highly focusing on getting core gameplay systems in place and learning what it means for us to take a map fully through production.
We’ve rebuilt a lot of our backend systems to better support future content aspirations and make us more agile as we transition into being a community-driven live service game. On the gameplay side, we spent time expanding our movement and combat systems alongside Founder feedback earlier in the year.
We’ve also gone through the process of bringing Atrium, a large district in the Residence Sector, to life and learned a lot about what is required to build our large, open, vertical environments with our visual bar and performance targets in mind.
Now we are at a point where many of our systems and new features have been brought to what we’d consider 70% complete – the bones are there, but we haven’t begun producing a lot of content yet and we’ve yet to smooth all of the rough edges to provide a more clear user experience. We believe this is a perfect time to come to our Founder community and ask what types of content and quality of life features are most important to you, which of our systems get you excited with their potential, and which might need some time back at the drawing board.
We’ve been digging into progression features the past few months and you’ll see a few small glimpses in the build, and we’ll be sharing further designs for discussion in the Discord in the coming weeks.
Where To Give Feedback
Feedback is an important part of the open development process. Be sure to submit Detailed feedback in the #founder-testing-feedback on any feature within the game. Include notes on what you do or do not like about something, as well as details on how you would like to see it changed. If possible, always include a video recording.
Bugs for founder testing can be reported to #founders-testing-bugs – please do not repost any bugs that have already been noted or reported by other users.
Major Known Issues (Please do not create a bug report for these)
- Players will sometimes load into a match without their HUD.
- Contract progress is not displayed during a match, and the match results screen does not indicate Completion/Failure.
- Vendor items do not display tooltip descriptions.
- Video settings are locked on the frontend, you’ll want to change your settings in game.
- When opening a loot container, window focus sometimes is interrupted and eats some inputs.
- Several elements of damage feedback when taking fire are not displaying correctly.
- Squads: Players will sometimes be sent directly back to lobby after death/extraction instead of spectating remaining players.
- Kill counts in post-match screens are not correct.
- Deadrop item dust reward is not being shared between teammates.
This is a DEVELOPMENT BUILD. Meaning you’re playing the same build which we used internally for playtests. Meaning you are getting the full development experience, including all of the bugs and unpolished features of our latest build. Many systems have only received an initial pass, and in some cases you’ll be playing things which were added to the build only partially done. Expect some crashes, possibly some bad performance, and plenty of funny or infuriating bugs; and likely some exploits to boot.
